Hello Nancy,
It's official four residents have received notice that DISD was no longer going after their property. We are slowly winning the fight against eminent domain, as Vickery Wholesale Greenhouse was victorious on August 13, 2010 and now four homes have been spared from DISD's clutches but, we still have a lot of work to do to obtain and preserve our entire community.
We will continue our battle against DISD until the last property is saved. The remaining residents are retired, disabled and hard working tax payers that were forced and harassed by DISD to sign contracts they deserve to be treated with respect but, DISD has not backed down nor shown any compassion to the remaining residents. Our community is family and we will not tolerate this behavior and refuse to accept DISD's future plan to build parking lots and or play grounds in between our homes.
