As summer winds down, state fair season ramps up in the Dallas, TX. The State Fair welcomes visitors from all over the country who come prepared for an old-fashioned dose of root beer floats, blue-ribbon bunnies, high dive shows, brand new shiny cars and warm-nosed cows to pet – plus a whole lot of food sizzling in oil... well they say if you fry it, they will come.
That seems to be the fair food credo. But, this year State Fair visitors came across a brand new attraction as the community members against eminent domain strolled down the Esplanade and the Midway surrounded by Fried Coke, and Fletchers corn dogs State Fair visitors turned with curiosity to look at the bright yellow T-shirts displaying a Municipal Monster visitors wanted to learn more about the monster and the message on the T-shirts being worn by the community members. Many visitors were informed that day about Eminent Domain and DISD's twisted plan to demolish a historical school and beloved neighborhood.
Who would have guessed that a T-shirt would be the biggest attraction at the 2010 State Fair of Texas.
